RIVALTA CASTLE AND MOLATO DAM

A “Way” that will lead us in the area of Piacenza , famous for picturesque and intact villages and for traditional cuisine , which is a pride of Italian food and wine.

We will visit the Castle of Rivalta situated on the banks of the river Trebbia and in the centre of a village remained intact over the centuries. After a lunch based on local products , we will go to Trebecco Lake , an artificial lake located in Tidone and we can visit the Molato Dam  built between 1921 and 1928 by Eng. Augustus Bellerio . Before coming back to Milan we will have time to walk through the streets of Caminata a small millenary village where history seems to have taken a long break ; Caminata is an agricultural village of Val Tidone and is one of the smallest municipalities in the region. Secret walkways (from which probably the village takes its name ), now walled up , towers, medieval shops are the characteristics of the village, formerly the customs of the County of Bobbio, between the Savoy State and the Dukedom of Parma and Piacenza.

This “Way” is on Sunday, May 18th, 2014 and is reserved to members who have paid  the annual membership fee of € 20 (valid till 31st.12.2014 )

Appetizers, locally produced, based on coppa, salami , bacon, pickles and salade pies
Four first courses : risotto with porcini mushrooms , noodles with sauce, ravioli and pisarei
Four second courses : roast veal , roasted coppa, roasted duck and braised meat
Baked potatoes and mixed salad
Homemade desserts
Drinks and coffee.
