With almost 1,900 meters of difference in level, climbing and puffing along the valleys of the Grisons, Valtellina, Poschiavo and Engadine, the train will lead us along a unique way in the world, listed as a World Heritage site. The train passes through bridges, tunnels, it grazes glaciers, lakes and small villages, capturing the traveler. It ‘s the most famous train in the world, it’s the Red Train of Bernina, which starts from Tirano, crosses the border with Switzerland, goes beyond Campocologno through the spiral viaduct of Brusio (UNESCO heritage), it continues to rise going along the Lake of Poschiavo that you can well admire by the stops at Miralago and Le Prese, rising then from Poschiavo to Cavaglia.

Going on the way we arrive to a high mountain part: at Alp Grum we are already at 2000 meters, but we are not yet at the top! We can reach the highest point on the Bernina Pass, at the Ospizio From this stop on, the railroad is all downhill, even if for a long stretch it remains at high altitude near the glaciers (there will be stops at Lagalb, Diavolezza, Morteratsch, and Muottas Muragi), and past Pontresina and Celerina the train ends its run at St. Moritz.

This Way is reserved to members who have effected the payment of the annual membership fee (€20 valid
dates 31/12/2014)  and with valid ID for expatriation (passport or identity card).

PROGRAM
Meeting in Milan in Piazza Maciachini (yellow MM stop) at 6.30 am. and at 6.45 am. departure to Tirano
Arrival at the railway station of Tirano and  at 10.50 departure of the Red Train of Bernina
Arrival in St. Moritz in time for lunch in a famous and elegant restaurant in the center.
Menu:
• Risotto with red wine and onion stew of game
• Braised beef with  herb dumplings and red cabbage with chestnuts
• Fruit salad with ice cream
• Beer or bottled water

In the afternoon visit of Saint Moritz and then leisure time
Return by bus to Milan
Stop at a farm at Mantello for  tasting foods of their production:
platter with salami and cold pork meats and sausages; platter of Valtellina cheese; red wine and water.

Rate:€ 95 (available for 50 people).If the quorum isn’t formed the rate will be given back.
